Invoicing, scoping, follow-ups, contracts — the actual craft is maybe half the job. The other half is everything that makes the craft sustainable.

"Could you just quickly..." is the most expensive sentence in freelancing. I learned to put boundaries in writing kindly and early. Clients respect clarity far more than they respect a pushover.

Price the value you deliver, not the hours you spend. Your speed is an asset, not a discount.

Save for the quiet months

Feast and famine is real. The months where three projects land at once feel great until you remember the month where none did. A buffer turns panic into patience.
